A Few Simple Questions
Does it anger you when others are not held to the same rigid standards that YOU have met?

How do you feel when someone who has not put in the effort you have is put in line in front of you?

Does *aWol bother you?

Why?

1. It's not what you know
It's not how hard you work to get where you are...

It's who you know...PERIOD!

Haspeens every single day of the week in every thing in life!

2. Ya know, Trumad
I think it is even more complicated than that. For us plebians, even WHO YOU KNOW often makes little difference. I "know" and have good contact with many "movers and shakers" in my field. I am however, NOT a member of the "luckiest sperm club" and throughout my life have experienced standards demanded of me that those making the demand could not themselves meet. I've worked with the RAGE for decades...

3. There have been so many flame wars
on this very board about Affirmative Action, Blue Collars in college, "special" rights, keeping us on the "lower rungs" at each other's throats. With these "new" revelations is a re-evaluation of our "hierarchy" in order? WHO is actually getting "special" rights? Just asking.

4. yes. it infuriates me
he infuriates me. he is the poster boy for all that is wrong with this country re: its phony claims about merit meaning more than skin color, gender, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, and so on. it's a double-edged sword in that you have to really believe and act as if those things don't matter if you hope to accomplish anything, and at the same time the evidence that they do matter is all around you. things have changed, and things have remained the same...sos.

6. The *service records not provided
are a SLAP IN THE FACE to anyone and everyone who "pais his/her dues."
Meanwhile, *policies towards Vets are an additional "golden shower."
I just wanted to get a sense af how people PERSONALLY feel after finally getting a clue about the *hierarchy. Hmmm... Maybe folks are too mad to even type.

5. Karenina. Hi darlin.
Sad to say that when I look at your simple questions, I see how the mindset affects the answer. The dirty little secret is that even when these things piss people off, it's usually okay, or much less an issue if a white person gets pushed ahead. Most of us accept that.
We might gripe a little, but we accept it.

But let a black man get up and my god, everybody has to get their's first so you windup right back at the end of the line. We're guaranteed a spot if there's anything left when you get there.
