the BEST daily summary of WH coverage
The Washington Post has started a daily page titled "White House Briefing" that provides the absolute best summary of media coverage of WH stories each day.

And what's really great is that not only is coverage of print and broadcast media included, but the best tidbits from the internet bloggers, too!

The rundown this morning on the AWOL story is very encouraging and helpful.

3. Look the Other Way! THIS is important!
On NBC's "Today" show, National security adviser Condoleezza Rice did a standup from the White House briefing room. Katie Couric asked about the Guard issue, and Rice deflected.

"The president has spoken to this. . . . But I'll tell you what I think the American people are interested in today, Katie, and they will get a chance to hear the president talk about this issue: this president is showing leadership and, as commander in chief in a time of peril for the country. After Sept. 11th, we faced a situation in which we had taken a tremendous blow in which we had to go on the offensive against the terrorists who were coming after us."

OHMIGOD! Do people really allow this to be an answer to every question?

4. Background material to bookmark too
I started a thread, but lately I am "invisible" so it's probably dead by now..

This is a powerful series from 1999 WaPo.. It is a roadmap to Bush's "brain" and has the cast and crew names and dates.. Useful for research.. Those same names keep coming up :)

5. Gee, what's gotten into WaPo? This almost seems like an attempt
to report real news!
