Help Save the Hubble telescope
Subject: Help save the Hubble

Bush wants to scrap the Hubble Telescope. A mission was planned for 2005-6 to replace batteries, gyroscopes and camera and give the telescope and extra 6 years of taking the exciting pictures that help understand the universe. Unless we can change this plan the program will stop. Please take the time to sign a petition on the attached URL to keep it going. Thanks.

1. Also probably would be helpful to write your Senators/congresspersons.
They need to hear from us that this decision was short-sighted and very unpopular with their constituents.

Thanks for posting this.

3. Fix the Hubble before going to Mars
I disagree with eliminating the Hubble. We have gotten great knowledge from this telescopes perspective. I think we should hold off on any Mars trip funding for now to upgrade this telescope.

We still send old space shuttles to space. This program is funded heavily which I am in favor of. I am sure we can find money somewhere for some Energizer's, digicam, and a gyro.

4. Maybe the X-prize competitors could
shoot for higher than 100 klicks once they've got their $20 mill in prize money. Rutan could put White Knight and, ummm, SpaceShipTwo up there with a new gyroscope.

I guess I'm feeling libertarian today - like not begging the feds to do this.
