Clark should be in anyone's cabinet..........
I know Clark ruled this option out while he was still a candidate, but it would be a shame if the eventual democratic nominee didn't have Clark somewhere in his cabinet. Even though Clark did not turn out to be a great campaigner, the man is a genius and Michael Moore was right to say that he is a gift to the democratic party. I would feel a lot safer with someone like Clark as secretary of defense than some chump like Rumsfeld.

1. I'd go along with that...I was kind of leaning his way and even though he
has his flaws (as do all the candidates, not to mention all of us!) I do think he's a brilliant guy and would be perfect as SOD - experienced but not too hawkish I don't think...although i know a lot of people were really suspicious of his recent conversion to the party...

2. He should be secretary of defense
It will take someone with his knowledge of the system to unscramble the mess the "drunken rummy" has made. He is probably the only one with guts enough to do a top to bottom purge of neocons from the pentagon.

5. Secretary of State
May be a better fit. As a General, foreign leaders would take him a lot more seriously than they ever took Sect'y Albright.

3. Of course, but.....
.....I'd still like to know why Ceneral Clark was fired by the President from his NATO post.

6. Secretary of State, not Defense
First, there's a long-existing taboo against appointing former professional military people as SecDef -- that position is supposed to be clearly a civilian one. Second, Clark's vision extends well beyond purely military/security issues; he's very well-informed on global environmental matters, for example.

Meanwhile, I hope Clark stays in the fray riding shotgun for Kerry during the campaign.

10. I figured it would be Edwards
But, yes, if Edwards isn't interested, then Clark would be a good and solid choice.

BTW, I think this thread will be locked...

Probably because it mentions candidates...

11. I agree..I would still like to see him as VP or perhaps Secretary
of Defense. It would be a shame not to utilize his abilities and brain power in some capacity.

12. As Wes Jr. stated just yesterday
When asked for his father's IQ, he said he didn't know, but that his Dad was "scary smart". I think that says it all.

I believe that the General would be an exceptional Sec of State - he already has established relationships with countries and their respective leaders around the world. He is highly regarded, extremely well spoken (speaks 4 or 5 languages, I believe) and has the experience and wisdom that is lacking in Powell. Whomever takes the reigns as the Dem President in November would be extremely remiss not to include Clark in the administration. He is an asset and his knowledge and experience, as well as his integrity will go a long way in helping our country to recover from 4 years of smirk and co.
