Scarborough decries media "feeding frenzy" over AWOL:
he has on the egregious lapdog Peter King, P Buchanan, Flavia (Flave?)--some MSCNBC bimbanalyst, and Col. Jack Jacobs (MSNBC military analyst)

Scarborough, of course brings up Kerry/Clinton 92

Jacobs is whitewashing, saying it's not unusual for records to be fouled up. Says democrats are having it both ways by having surrogates talking it up, leaving candidates out of it.

Buchanan says press is all over this cause they "SMELL BLOOD"

that if there are any holes in story, they'll find them

Scabhead says they covered it in 2000.

yeah, right.

Scab says the dems are "drooling" over this, and the media are part and parcel.

good exchange......good for PAT!

1. I get the feeling that Pat knows something....
He's been all over MSNBC today and has mentioned several times that if bush is hiding something it's going to come back on him. I've heard him say the flight suit and the Iraq casualties are reasons why this story is legit.

2. Just like the rest of us, Pat has been driven MAD by this administration.
Someone said earlier today that the press feels "guilty" about not pursuing this in 2000 and that they are trying to make up for it. Uh huh.

5. if they feel anything, it's not guilt.......they're soulless
it is THE question of the campaign so far, though, I think, exactly WHY the media choose to cover this story THIS time, as opposed to five years ago.

not to mention his drug use, his new driver's license, his possible arrest for cocaine, his dealings with Harken, BCCI/binLaden connections, etc etc

is it just the herd instinct?

why has the teflon started to flake off?

10. Does this mean I have to take back all the bad things I said about
McAuliffe? No way. But I've got to give the guy credit for putting a shot over the Republican bow. The reason it's different this time is because, as Flavia said, this is a WAR president. You want war? You'd better be a guy (or gal) who understands it.

I like to repeat the Republican mantra, "Everything changed after 9/11."

15. gotta give him credit, much as I'd like not to
they'd have let the Moore thing die, I'll wager

McAuliffe hit it HARD on the gasbag shows, even admitting that they should have pushed it in 2000......there's a quote about them blowing it then by not hitting it harder then.

at least he learned SOMEthing from his myriad mistakes

like mischaracterize Gore's internet comment ad nauseum until they made it seem like he had claimed he had done everything up to and including mining the copper to lay the wires from town to town.

19. These documents have been posted on the net for 4 years
Any imbecile inside the beltway had to know if the press ever started showing the least bit of interest in Dumbya being AWOL, then all these documents would bury Dumbya.

3. Flavia is great - not a bimbo.
If she's MSNBC, that's new. She used to be a Democratic something or another.

8. agreed.......she started out saying that the AWOL story wasn't important
that plus her hot looks plus working for MSNBC caused snap judgment.

she made reasonable points after that about Guard troops in Iraq probably not being too happy to hear what * got away with thirty years ago.

and Peter King did a diGenova on this McArthur guy from Harper's, who said we need to know about Bush's Saudi connections, and WHY the entire binLaden family was allowed to leave the country.....he went NUTS, interrupting him, calling him nasty names, dissing him very majorly

it was GREAT!

McArthur was laughing at him on split screen

too funny

worth checking the rerun

12. So are some of the Saudi/Bin Laden connections gonna surface
now too?

Hey wow, this whole business is getting interesting, what with Mineta's testimony on the Cheney LIHOP story & all.

Maybe prayer IS answered.

9. yeah baby!
I said EXACTLY that on WGN radio Sunday night, when they were talking about AWOL.

said that if the media had DONE THEIR JOB in 2000, none of this would have been necessary.

also said that the more important aspect of this story is the flight physical and grounding, about which I knew more than the two Tribune and one Dallas Morning News reporters

I started a thread on this, but they locked it cause I mentioned Kerry's name.

18. wasn't that Terry Moran who did the story?
what did Jennings have to say?

I don't but the bit about him doing a stealth mention, seeming to diss the story. He's a pompous hack.

never forget.....these guys just READ stuff.

they have editorial power, but they don't really do anything. those titles are sinecures, meant to massage their bloated egos and justify their insanely inflated salaries.

13. WHAT "feeding frenzy"?
Am I missing something? The media are finally barely acknowledging the story after ignoring it for four years, and it's a "feeding frenzy"?

Posing as someone persecuted -- typical GOP tactic..

20. I know, and have commented on that, but he used those exact words
wouldn't you enjoy a similar feeding frenzy surrounding Lori K?

something along the lines of the one that coelesced around some guy named Condom, or something like that?

what was that guy's name? wasn't he a congressman or something?

something about a death they tried to connect him with?

22. I think they are doing more than just acknowledging it.
The WH briefing today was rough for little Scottie. I keep hearing Brian Lamb on Washington Journal dismissing the innumerable calls over the past three years about *'s status in the Alabama NG. It has been festering for a long time.

it's small potatoes compared to Memogate, LIHOP, WMD lies, and Plame, which are TREASON.

21. I was wondering about that, too
the DUI thing worked really well, didn't it?

matter of fact they got this story off the front pages INSTANTLY with that one.

that's why this one has to be kept simple........stick to the flight physical--the grounding: EASY to follow--easy to understand

especially if the drug-testing angle can be worked in

then.......James Bath......then, binLaden/Saudi/CIA connections?

this is how Watergate spun out of control

25. after "AWOL"
I'd like to move next to the Texas driver's license replacement. In Texas EVERYTHING is linked to that dl#. A "new" license is unheard of and his Chimperial Majesty got one. What's on that dl# and is any of it during the "missing year?"

I think that the twin issues of MORE privilege and more crimes should be explored in this issue right after we find out about that whole issue of no-show for physical (and possibly urine screening).

A girl can dream at any rate...
