It really has to be getting tougher for Republicans to keep the faith
Remember when President Clinton presented his 1993 budget every single Republican including Greenspan said it would bankrupt America. They said you could not impose a Tax Increase in times of a poor economy, that it would bankrupt America. President Clinton got his budget passed by having his Vice President Al Gore cast the tie breaking vote and America went on to enjoy the greatest economic expansion in history. Now the Republicans have all three branches of government plus they have Greenspan still in place and they have had their way. We have seen the results of their economic policies. America has experienced the greatest economic turn-around in history. From Huge surpluses to Record debt and deficit. It is way to late to be blaming President Clinton. They have all the power and are failing in plain sight of the whole world. How do they keep their chins up? I know they aren't all stupid. Some have got to realize that all is not well and that maybe just maybe they don't know it all. Ya think??

1. Their minds must be twisted into pretzel-like knots...
to try to justify the raping and pillaging of our country.

2. I enjoyed this Freeper spin on the current Bush grilling:

Oh where to begin.

*********

What's so incredibly stupid about all this is that from a military standpoint, America will be selecting a Commander in Chief next November. America has had 3+ years to evaluate President Bush as the Commander in Chief of the military, and most intellectually honest people would agree that he has done well in this area of his Presidency. So what difference does some technicality (assuming there even is one) on his guard service mean anyway? It's like saying that the Giants should reconsider having Barry Bonds in their lineup this year because some people were saying that back in the late 70's when he was in high school, they seem to remember he didn't run out a double play ball hard enough one day.

4. And this, from the same thread...
(in response to someone who claimed he was tired and burned out from being angry all the time, as part of a pile-on):

"Coward"

Not only that, but anyone who "stays angry all the time", is an emotionally immature basket case and is too emotionally unstable to stay the course long enough to prevail in this war of ideas against our enemies (foreign and domestic).

Soldiers of that sort will get you killed in a war. They cannot be depended upon in matters of life and death - they always cut and run. It's better that they stay home with the feminized males and airhead females and let emotionally mature men and women handle what needs to be done.

None of the Founding Fathers "stayed angry all the time", they merely considered the source of what they had to deal with and took care of business.

There are the noble and there are the ignoble. The truly noble will always be in the minority.

3. Didn't you hear? Bush's economy is Clinton's fault. It goes like this:
Reagan's economy = Congress + Cold War + labor unions to blame

Bush I's stale economy = Congress to blame

Clinton's booming economy = Reagan did it

Bush II's crashing economy = Clinton + terrorism to blame

I give you the party of personal responsibility.

5. I want a tape !!!

I want a tape of all these Neo-Con dickheads predicting that the tax increase would send the US Economy spiraling into oblivion.

Well, as it turned out, tax INCREASES on the wealthy is pretty good stimulus for the economy. That is if you turn around and make good social programs out of it.

TAX THE WEALTHY FOR ECONOMIC STIMULUS.

The Wealthy aren't concerened with the overall health of the economy. Our lives are starting to suck, but there's just keep getting better. They have a compliant beleagured workforce. They keep more of their ill-gotten gains and import Mexican illegals to do their yards and raise their children.

Nope those wealthy Republican ass-holes WANT high unemployment. They WANT the middle class to dissapear. Then they can do whatever they want.

6. The more they whine the more I smile
They were wrong in 93 incredibly wrong and they are even more wrong now. They firmly believe war is what stimulates an economy. I don't really think they believe that tax cuts really help the economy but they sure help get them elected. What has to happen is for the real adults to step up to the plate and tell everyone that what the country needs is for some sacrifice to be made and it needs to be made by those that can afford it the most. We are at war (their words not mine) so we should see a little sacrifice, don't ya think? Clinton has been proved right and we should encourage people to accept that fact Free up some monies for the middle class and tack a bit more onto the wealthy and even more on to the obscenely wealthy. The adults have to come forward and tell the rich that the times they is a changin'. Sacrifice is their way of showing patriotism. So come on all you super patriots, step up to the plate and open your wallets, let's turn this country around.
