The bigger picture about Bush AWOL
While everyone has their knickers in a twist over whether or not he produced adequate proof of his service, the bigger picture is much more telling; the fact that we have to even ASK!

Seriously...this is the Commander-In-Chief, and he has to weave and dodge about his military service...and STILL no one believes him.

THIS is honor and integrity in the White House? Every Republican -- EVERY AMERICAN -- should be ashamed of this man. If a man with honor and integrity said "I served!" people would actually believe him. We know otherwise with this liar.

And THAT is the bigger picture about the AWOL issue.

2. It's always been about character
If one looks at the Shrub's entire life, you see a pattern:

1. Gets into Yale not on merit, but because of his connections
2. Does poorly at Yale-arrested at least once for stealing Christmas decorations

3. Gets into TANG over the heads of some 500 other applicants because of his connections.
4. Does poorly-disobeys orders for a physical, is grounded, amount of service time questionable;leaves Guard early

5. Gets into business because of his connections
6. Business fails under his leadership but 'friends' buy him out and he makes a handsome profit.

7. Stole the White House because of his connections
8. Country goes to the dogs under his leadership.....

6. & don't forget COCAINE...
the assumption is that he failed to report mainly to avoid being given the physical exam, which would have shown that he was a real hard core 'peruvian hoover'. he admits to being a hopeless blackout embarrassing drunk, but never admits the extreme cocaine usage and arrest for possession and rehab and community service, all of which has been expunged, covered up and fogged over. people involved with w's past crimes are VERY reluctant to come forward and say anything. my assumption is that they are either too afraid, or were paid off, or both.

12. Do you suppose that could be why nobody's come forward to say
they served with him?

"people involved with w's past crimes are VERY reluctant to come forward and say anything. my assumption is that they are either too afraid, or were paid off, or both."

Makes ya wonder, doesn't it?

7. Our Buzzword: Taking Responsibility
When I confront a bunnypant's licker, I ask if he's ever made a mistake since he was selected. They will always point to one thing or another (immigration, economy...even the invasion, now), but then I ask what this regime has taken resposibility for....and then wait for the silence. It's a long one.

This oxygen thief has never taken responsibility for his actions and always has found a "way out"...by lying, obstructing, ignoring or pulling strings. He has never admitted, except for a "little drinking problem", that he's ever done a wrong thing (yet he's a born again ain't he?)...especially as "Chimp In Chief".

No matter what comes out or how it's parsed, the delay and lack of total candor is what we definitely need to hammer on. This is not just the credibility, or lack of it, with this regime, but their total shirking of assuming responsibilities for their actions and dumping it on others (us) to clean up, suck up or die for. We have to focus on the large disconnect with this pampered frat boy and the majority of us who've had to earn what we have and face the music when we screw up.

8. "Oxygen thief" is a great line. I've always thought that it a waste of a
natural resource to have this jackass on the planet alive and breathing, but I could just never find a phrase that described it.You hit the nail on it's (pin) head.

11. Did you hear what Tweety said?
I just walked in on it, briefly, earlier today. He was debating on-air with somebody, and pointed out that AT THE VERY LEAST this is bad for bush because here we are with John Kerry looking more and more inevitable for the Democrats, and all THAT does is point up - here's a guy who actually went to Vietnam and saw combat, and bush didn't. Just on the face of it. And that's just a big, fat, glaring-difference, 8,000-pound gorilla over in the corner of the room that some people are still trying to ignore.

Matthews was also sounding pretty forceful and irate about it. Sounds like he was really pissed about the whole thing.
