Harold Ford sez "take Bush's word and move on"
Ford is on CNN right now. He says "Bush said he served honorably, so let's take his word for it and move on."

Why is Ford continually sabotaging the progress the Democrats are making against Bush?

But Kerry's pushing this issue
I'm sure Harold's acting on his own here - not very impressively, I might add.

Rep. Ford was acting on his own.

Just like John Kerry and his infamous "stop crying in your teacups" remark.

about his private sex life, as opposed to a very public commitment made to serve one's country?

14. Exactly...
.... every time I'm forced to step back and be sure I'm being "fair" and "reasonable", I use the litmus test the Republicans themselves created. If they did it to Clinton, it must be OK, since they all have so much honor and integrity.

Thanks pukes for lowering the bar.

7. Every time this country takes his word for something, people end up dead!
Screw that! People took his word that "we didn't know terrorists were going to use planes as bombs!" People took his word "Iraq is a threat". I am not taking that SOB's words for anything!

You can't be a war mongering pResident and have a shaky military career at the same time. Sorry!

8. Last time we "took his word" on something we ended up
invading a country with no WMD, killing 530 americans (thus far), wounding thousands, costing billions, killing tens of thousands of Iraqis.

I ain't takin' smirky at his word no more.

9. hey Harold Ford. I got a suggestion for you.
SHUT THE F*CK UP! Let us people of America decide what we want to see. If we tune into Janet nipple replays ad infinitum...then that's what they put onthe TV. If we are into house renovations..we watch that. If we want to watch basketball, that is our perogative. If we want to tune out the State of Union...that is a market force.

If we want to know what the press finds out about our chickensh!t president goofing around and blowing off his cushy guard service, then we will watch it.

Hearing a politician tell me to take another politician at his word is like hearing a criminal remind me that the other criminal is a nice guy while said other criminal has a gun to my head.

I'm sick of you conservative jerks telling the people what to do. Why don't YOU use your time searching for verifiable proof that he served when he said he did. Now go to HELL!

for BushCo. What is funny is last year people were saying "leave the WMD thing alone" "it will come back to bite us". Now people are saying that about AWOL. No way. The tide has turned and we need to roll this tsunami up onto the beach and let it wipe out this house of cards administration.

Because, he has not motivation to lie, now does he.

This is fucking sick.

I don't think I should have to trust that asshole just because he somehow fooled enough Americans to make his "win" in 2000 look legitiamte.

Fuck the Republicans. And fuck Bush. He is a lying, cowardly shithead.

We can just all agree that Bush is a deserter, and move on from there.

Next question: Did he desert because of cowardice, laziness, or drug addiction?

When America's sons and daughters are maimed and dead because we were asked to take Bush's word the last time, the time for taking Bush's word is long gone. And I told him so in many more words.

move on? Ford has probably one of the safest seats in the House for the next 40-or-so years if he wishes to stay, so he is at absolutely no political risk, no matter what he says.

45. It's not a bad strategy...
The press, althought picking up on this, are spinning it as a dem concern. The best way is to do what Ford did.... say that this is not a campaign issue, but should be the concern of the press and the public. Otherwise, it'll be dicounted by Bushites a dem propaganda. The WH press corps were throwing really hard ball questions during the briefing. Let them do the fighting here. I'd rather see this an issue of general concern than a campaign issue.
