Bush SHOULD have had a plan to plant WMD's before he invaded Iraq
I was completely against invading Iraq and I don't say this for Bush's sake. I say this for everyones sake. I am not sure that even another president will ever be able to regain the credibility the US has lost throughout the world over this screw up in Iraq. By not having the stuff to plant and ready to go as soon as the US invaded will turn out to be one of the worst blunders of any president ever. The US has become the laughing stock of the world, and next time there really is a threat to America we can forget having any meaningful help from our allies. They won't believe anything we say. And you can't blame them. They can plant them now almost a year later, but anyone with a lick of sense will know what happened now. Its too late now. What a mess.

2. Well, there is always the bright side...
I would like to think, that if nothing else, David Kay had cut off the arm of the pre-emptive, uni-lateral war theory. At least if the chimp tries to approach the American people trying to convince us that Syria needs to be invaded, people will have come to their senses and never support such an idea therfor quashing it.

Wishful thinking?

3. I thought the outsourcing of the task to find WMD to Kay
was cover for the planting. I don't know, did this happen and we just haven't been surprised yet? For all I know, Kay's Congressional testimony could have been scripted so as to further legitimize the find if and/or when it occurs.

6. I'm inclined to believe that
they fell for their own propaganda. They repeated it so often, they started to really believe there were WMD there. I truly believe b* was surprised that there weren't any. Now, that takes real stupidity - to believe in your own tales, and then, maybe, no one ever told b* that it was just wishful thinking.
