O'Reilly now.............skeptical
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20040210/people_nm/campaign_bush_oreilly_dc_3

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Conservative television news anchor Bill O'Reilly said on Tuesday he was now skeptical about the Bush administration and apologized to viewers for supporting prewar claims that Iraq (news - web sites) had weapons of mass destruction.

The anchor of his own show on Fox News said he was sorry he gave the U.S. government the benefit of the doubt that former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s weapons program poised an imminent threat, the main reason cited for going to war.

"I was wrong. I am not pleased about it at all and I think all Americans should be concerned about this," O'Reilly said in an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America."

I love the smell of fear. The smell of desperation. Career decisions. Dennis Miller must be shitting bricks - he has NO WHERE to go.

10. His WAAAAYYYY overdue apology
wouldn't have anything to do with all the emails and petitions that he and faux "news" recieved would it? He's still a walking, talking advertisement for birth control.

19. It worked
I can't stand him, but I give him credit for the apology, no matter how forced it may have been. Insanity and PigBoy would NEVER do this.

11. Interesting
You know, it's funny, I had never watched or listened to O'Reilly before up until about two weeks ago. I have listened a bit now, and surprisingly, unlike how I feel toward most right-wing talk shows, I found him pretty entertaining! I don't agree with him on much of anything of course, but he is not what I expected after reading about him here at DU for so long. He seems to not really care who he jumps on and for what and I kind of admire his little streak of independence -- and for his ability to say he was wrong on WMDs.

12. We really need to start thinking in a new way

We're no longer the voice in the wilderness. Bush is going down. Not "going to go down", not "looking vulnerable", he *IS* going down. America is waking up to what we've been saying since the selection. It's like Carville said "We're right. They're wrong"

Now let's start acting like it, damn it!!

17. E-mails Away! Hearts and Flowers for republican citizens
all around.

I have already copied the story and sent it to my hard-core RW brother (a Vietnam Vet) and his even harder core RW spouse.

They are beginning to sniff out a Major Stinkerooski with the AWOL thingy, too.

They think O'Reilly is a God.

Like most "gods," he has feet of clay.

May this tidbit help them awaken further -- for they are wonderful people in all other respects.

Thank you, Good Morning America !
