2.6 million jobs in a year.
The latest Let's Throw This Out And See If They Buy It from the white house. So how many is that per day? How many more jobs should be available tomorrow?

1. I'm amazed that ANYONE let him say that.
It's a complete an utter pipe dream.

Roughly 9,000 jobs a day. Yeah, that's likely.

5. With 11 months to go...
that's 236,364 jobs per month.

What kind of jobs would that be?

Good sustainable jobs that provide healtha insurance?

7. Perhaps he meant 2.6 million worldwide...
and seeing how Bush is exporting our jobs, I wouldn't be surprised.

14. we need more than the 2.6 million lost

We also need jobs to accomodate new entries into the workforce. I can't find the source right now,but I know I heard a while back the economy needs to create 450,000 new jobs per month to keep up.

16. Since they are talking about an average over the year
it turns out they really have to add 5.3 millions jobs from Dec 03 to Dec 04. This is more than any other time in our history, including WWII. This is absolute nonsense. See Brad DeLong's blog for more details:
