RNC telephone poll
My mother is a registered Republican. She told me that she received a telephone call from the RNC over the weekend. When asked if she had an opinion or not regarding the performance of pResident Bush, she responded, "Yes, I have a strong opinion."
"Do you approve or disapprove of Bush's handling of the War on Terror?"
"I strongly disapprove of the way Bush has handled the War on Terror."
Uh, thank you. Enjoy your weekend.
End.

2. They'll call again.
Just like the NRA. I used to be a member until they got hijacked by the black heicopter crowd. They still call with a push poll every 6 months or so. I always tell them the same thing: "The NRA is a bunch of right-wing nut jobs and I'm not giving them any money." It hasn't stopped them from calling yet.

4. Once you give money, they never stop
In my neck of the woods, the local NRA affiliate is one of the strongest environmental advocates in the area. They teamed up with local environmental groups to sue the state and stop the development of protected lands.

5. The NRA stopped calling me.

Though it took a lot of years. The conversation used to always go the same way.

NRA: We need you to rejoin now.

Me: While I am a staunch supporter of gun rights, I am quite liberal on oth...

3. we all vote in every election
and we live right near Quinnapeiac and Marist, so we do get our share of calls.

This call came from the RNC, and was worded in such a way to assure a positive response.

I assume they were trying to prove that * is viable in NY.
