Why was Poppy Bush meeting with bin Laden's brother on 9-11?

1. I don't think Poppy was there.

It was a meeting of the Carlyle Group and some of its investors, and the bin Ladens were part of that group.

As far as I have read, Poppy was in the WH overnight, and then left when Laura left in the morning, and Bar and Poppy went to an airport and flew to the Midwest.

Some cronies were at the meeting, though.

On edit: I always wondered why Poppy was NOT at that meeting, though. Perhaps he was and it has been covered up.

- Bush doesn't dispute any of this. And it's a well-known fact that the Bush Family has a close relationship with the bin Laden Family. It just surprises me that the media and 9-11 commission doesn't want to talk about it.

6. Actually, the question that should be asked is..

why Poppy and Uncle Dick were pulling an all nighter in the White House while Junior was out of town in Florida. Makes you wonder just what the HELL they were talking about only hours before the commencing of an attack which read very much like the "Operation Northwoods" script that a young CIA agent named George Bush once advocated as a premise for an official war on Cuba, once his unofficial invasion had failed (see "Bay of Pigs")

These all-day annual board meetings tend to start very early, well before 9 a.m. Papa Bush gets a motocade that runs all lights, possibly a helicopter. He can breakfast with Dick at 6 or 7, make a brief appearance at the Ritz Carlton, and still hit Reagan or Dulles in time to take off and be "grounded" in Wisconsin for his alibi.

According to the official story (Woodward), he later talked to Junior and mock-complained that he had been grounded. But this can easily be a cover, in fact the sheer fact that we are getting the story as a "human interest" insert indicates it.

Who says Papa Bush wasn't flown to Milwaukee after the flight ban?

Doesn't it sound suspicious? Seems to rush from DC to the course on 9/11, despite the potential for bad publicity? Sounds a bit like dawdling at a Florida elementary school... or spending the morning pretended to be distracted by a meeting, like Myers. Never mind the embarrassment, it's important to have an alibi.
