3. If Clinton had to testify about a blowjob, ferpetessake, you bet your
assets that Chimpy had better be ready to testify under oath about this...I think it's just a little more important.

11. never happen ...
... this will be highest act of Treason ever ... Ann Coulter would have to add another large chapter to her book.

Scalia got rewarded with Duck Hunting Trip ... maybe Scalia was allowed to play "The Most Dangerous Game" with Big Dick.

I think Gore is understating our grave situation ... Dean is the man .... Kerry is Bush-Lite.

Put that hand on the bible and testify.

Same for 911 — answer all questions "under oath"!

7. Bush testify?
Edited on Mon Feb-09-04 01:09 PM by mac2
Yes...and under oath about whatever government business they want. Congress has power of oversite over the Executive branch. It's Constitutional.

Remember Clinton haters...no one is above the law...even the President?

Well...Clinton could have said no to testifying to Congress about his "private life" and "consentual affair". X-President Bush told the press it was none of their business..and off they went. If it was before a divorce laywer, yes they would have to testify.

That whole thing about Clinton's private life was a smoke screen for NAFTA. I cared more about that than Monica's dress. The press and Republicans knew that.

14. What?
Clinton didn't testify to Congress. He testified in a civil deposition and before a Grand Jury - he never sat before Congress under oath.

Now if this was a legal prceeding or an impeachment trial, that's another story.

8. He is hiding behind this "Wartime President" nonsense
He won't get away with it. A few more reports from Baghdad on 60 minutes and the fucker is done.

9. Don't Know Where It Would Go.
There's probably only so much a President can say until they get into matters of National Security, which no one on either side of the aisle will compel him to testify about.

12. Um, do you remember Clinton?
The Supreme court not only made him testify, but it allowed the Secret Service to be forced to testify.

But, then again, that was Clinton, and Clinton was a Democrat.

Remember, 7 of the 9 Supremes were appointed by repubs. And Repubs never admit being wrong.

13. But Congress could not ...
compel a Sitting President to testify. Absolute separation of powers deal. And a commission set up by the President probably doesn't have that level of subpoena power.
