2. Other Numbers To Watch...The Overnights
Edited on Mon Feb-09-04 10:11 AM by IMRadioactive
We should be getting those numbers this afternoon...the overnight ratings of how many people were watching. Be assured a large audience would be a lead headline...a large one will get noted. And a large audience is a good thing (sorry, Martha).

Next will the the Gallup polls (I imagine CNN will have their number crunchers on this pronto) that should come out on Thursday (three day averages after Sunday) that will tell how well this PR offensive is going.

On Edit: One sudden thought...expect if this doesn't go well, * to "go local" again...dissing the national media and doing powder-puff interviews on local stations (just like he did last year before the tax scam vote) and claim the "media filter". I know the local stations will drop trow and assume the position, but will the viewers do the same?

3. All I have to say is, if the SOTU and the MTP interview are indications
of how the chimp is going to "make his case" and run his campaign for re-sElection, it should be a cake walk for the dem nominee. Those were both poor performances for a guy who calls himself pResident and is trying to save his job.

7. The weakest..
presidential interview I have ever seen. He said removing Hussein was worth losing nearly 600 young American lives and maiming God only knows how many more.
All he could muster to say about the Alabama Guard was that he received an honorable discharge - a non-denial denial that he was not in fact AWOL.
He must have said Saddam had the 'capacity and desire' to develop WMDs a half a dozen times - WTF!
And just think, this interview was taped (edited) and this was his best shot at reassuring America that he is qualified to lead our country.
Regardless of your favorite candidate, our country is in desperate need of a change in direction. We must live with hope for the future, not fear. Terror and fear drive this cabal. Hope and promise for a peaceful future will derail it.

8. He made a case
....for being booted out of office!

Anyone hear a guy named Colmes on IMus this morning? He talked about how bush only sees in black and white; good and evil. He bases all decisions (even life and death decisions) through this filter.

I mean, isn't that the complete opposite of what diplomacy is about?

17. 67% no, 37% yes..basically the core dittoheads who wouldn't
see the light of truth if it came up and bit them on the neck.

"When all men think alike, no one thinks very much." Walter Lippmann

I saw this quote today and I think it is a fitting mantra for the die-hard repugs.

18. Last election....
...Bush was considered the winner of the debates because our expectations of him were so low, that even poor preformance looked good. Maybe they want to try that stragedy again. You know...for the next several months he'll act like an idiot...in other words, just be himself...then he'll enter the debates walking AND chewing gum at the same time (having practiced everyday) and he'll impress the hell out of everyone.
