2. "I'm a war president." - well, no lie here.
BUSH: I think, the people to understand where I'm
coming from. ME: this one sounds like the thought police. - RUSSERT: Will you testify before the commission?

BUSH: This commission? You know, I don't testify? - ME: Of course, this only proves you lie to the people.

4. Can anyone tell me what this means?
On the subject of the 9-11 commission and it's access to Presidential Daily Briefings, Bush says:

"... the danger of allowing for information that I get briefed on out in the public arena is that it could mean that the product I receive or future presidents receive is somewhat guarded for fear of it being revealed, and for fear of people saying, Well, you know, we're going to second guess that which you told the President."

I can't parse it. He seems to be saying that if the public knew what was in these briefings, then future briefings might miss something, because the intelligence gatherers would be so afraid of missing something that they'd miss something.

Eh?

5. Parsing this president is like ice skating on jello.Looks easy til you try
I think he means that if he releases past PDBs, then in the future the CIA will be reluctant to include actual information on the documents given to the president. Right. Like most arguments this guy makes, it's bullshit. All it would do is make the CIA more careful in the future that it got its facts right when it puts stuff in writing, now matter what pressure the clown de jour says.

11. Did y'all catch this line?
We got to deal with Social Security as well. As you know, these entitlement programs need to be dealt with.

Shrub referred to Social Security as an entitlement. Now I know that most of the Radical Right think this way but it would kill him if the seniors hear this. Social Security is funded by a special tax. Just like unemployment this is a government run insurance program not an entitlement. If it is considered an entitlement then he must consider the SS tax another income tax and he should count it with income tax. I hope that this line gets notice and gets played along with his project to privatize SS.
