No follow up questions by Russert....
Tim "the whore" Russert was better than expected I think but opf course he let Bush off the hook time after time during his interview with the criminal president Bush. He very rarely followed up on any questions. Do you think if he was interviewing President Clinton he would have allowed him to get away with what he was saying and not follow up with questions? For example, Bush tells Russert that his military records are all there for anyone to look at since 2000, but then Russert fails to follow up with a questions like, "Well there are some records missing, aren't there Mr. President?" Also, Russert does not questions Bush regarding entire agencies dissenting to Bush statements that Iraq is a threat to our country. Russert is good at cornering in politician with facts but not when it come to repubs!

1. Tim "The Doormat" Russert
Tim "The Doormat" Russert is what I call him.

He was just about what I expected this morning. He wouldn't interupt Bush and say "Mr President, you didn't anwer my question." But wait until Sen Kerry is on MTP (hopefully next week), you'll get interuptions with every answer the president-to-be will give.

Russert's problem really is that he has become such a lackey for the "inside the beltway", Washington establishment elite, that he just cannot ask a real difficult question anymore to anyone ... Republican or Democrat. Which is why I rarely watch Meet the Press anymore, anyhow.

2. You know I saw this
I was expecting neft balls, and he actually lobbed a hardball or two

Now when he did the performance of the kid was so poor that soft balls is all that Bush can handle.

This is a sad state of affairs, as the press is lobing soft balls and that is enough trouble for the kid... what will future generations say about us? We put him in office, even if we did not elect him.

Though the smirks will not go well with middle america, and that is a good thing

4. Pre-taped
That lowers the bar of any interview. It was a Infomercial. Meet the Press no longer has any credibilty. Russerst has disgraced the show. One word: FARCE.

5. I hope this is the downfall
of Mr. Russert. The fact the White House asked for him and he failed to follow up on any difficult question...the fact that Bush was so ill prepared--he didn't expect follow-up--speaks for itself.
Nor will Mr. Russert reveal that he himself was one of the prime cheerleaders for invading Iraq. I remember, even if he doesn't.

6. I actually thought Russert did a better job than I expected
It's easier for him to hardball question a person with brains and the facility to answer than an idiot like Bush. I almost got the feeling that Timmy didn't want to make Bush look more idiotic than he already did. Part of letting Bush ramble on was respect for the office, and part was letting Bush hoist himself on his own petard (there's a visual for you: a retard on a petard). Bush came off as being ridiculously inept. This follows his overwhelmingly weak SOTU. We are seeing the beginning of the end of Monkey Boy. Watch and enjoy the implosion.

7. Actually,
it was better for Timmy to let * just talk on and on and on. The more he talked, the dumber he sounded.

8. I totally agree
All Russert had to do was ask the questions and let Commander Codpiece hang himself. Anything more would have been portreyed as being abusive. Tim did about as good a job as would have been allowed on the corporate media. Lets face it, this will be a verey "interesting" election process. As the Chinese proverb says, "May you live in interesting times". It is actually a curse.

10. I also thought that Russert was much tuffer
than I expected. He asked about the military record, his horrible poll ratings in Europe, why he thought Americans consider him a divider and not a uniter like he said he'd be during the election, etc. * came off looking like and idiot. It was a best case scenario imho.

9. He sure has problems
with the English language. Even I noticed it, and English is not my first language. It was a long interview. I found myself feeling a bit sorry for him. No wonder it was taped. It needed to be taped.

13. Yeah, but don't forget how low the standards are for Repugs
Remember the "debates" in 2000? Bush looked like a complete idiot, but because he was never really challenged by the press the reich wingers still contend that he "won" the debates. He "won" by virtue of not looking like a complete ass, I guess.

11. He didn't need to ask follow up ?'s
Bush was so bad, that he just gave him a starting point, and the president just rambled on and on aimlessly. It was painful to see

12. Yeah but that isn't enough
I don't think its ok to just feel pity on him and let him take the easy way out.

This guy wants the glamour of being a wartime president? This guy wants to command respect from the masses? Then he sure as hell better be able to answer some questions.

These so called "journalists" shouldn't back down on Bush just because he is their guy, and then try to pretend that they are legitimate when interviewing Democrats.

I wouldn't be so pissed off if Russert acted like this towards everyone on his show. But I have seen him and reporters all over just grill the Democratic candidates, as though they suddenly found their integirty.

Sorry, but it just makes me sick to watch them suck up to Bush.
