"Bush's Brain" the movie?
Bush's Brain Makes Appearance At SXSW Film 2004

One of the main focuses of the 2004 South by Southwest Film Festival will be political films with a range of premieres and retrospectives. Appropriate to this Festival from deep in the heart of the state that gave this country our current President, SXSW Film continues this tradition with the world premiere of Bush's Brain, about President Bush's advisor and electoral stategist Karl Rove.

The film is directed by Michael Paradies Shoob and Joseph Mealey.

Based on the acclaimed nonfiction book by Wayne Slater and James Moore, this documentary examines Rove's long and controversial political career in which he helped bolster Texas Republicans and eventually guide George W. Bush to the presidency. Through insightful interviews with the pundits and people he has affected through the years, the audience begins to learn about "the most powerful political figure America has never heard of, the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain of today's Presidential politics."

anybody heard about this?

the book itself is amazingly damning of Rove, and, as such, has been almost completely ignored

1. Based solely on the title, I'd say that it would have to be a short film.

6. You're right.
I checked a few different search engines, and there is very little on the movie. Mostly just updates about production, etc. Not much more out there than what the SXSW site has about it.

".....the world premiere of the documentary Bush's Brain, an examination of President Bush's right-hand zealot Karl Rove.

'From what we understand, the White House isn't too happy about this documentary," says (fest programmer Matt) Dentler, "although lots of Hollywood Democrats are overjoyed.'"

4. I had heard about it previously. It's kind of surprising that it isn't
getting more press. Of course, anything critical of Bush or his cronies would be suppressed if at all possible

5. Bush's Brain shows the pattern of corruption from Rove's
planting of a bug in his own office to blame the Jim Hightower campaign to the bullying of press people to omit the truth. The pattern today is quite clear, now that Rove has the national treasury behind his deceit. It's easy to see how he is labeled as the point man in outing a CIA agent for political opponent destruction to the mysterious air crash that took Sen. Paul Wellstone's life, 5 days before his re-election just to name a few.

7. exactly.....I quit reading it about halfway through. it made me ILL!!
same reaction I had to "The Jungle"

couldn't finish reading that either

Rove's effects on American political health reminded me of the blue milk they sold from tubercular cows in Chicago

That reminds me......I have a nightlight--a five inch figurine of Jesus standing there, looking holier than thou (surprised?)

as a halo, he has a fried egg

he holds a sign saying, "This is you brain on Jesus"
