How was Russert this morning?
I have only been awake for about an hour. I did not see MTP. How was Russert? Was he a softie, or was he aggressive?

1. Personally, I think he was good
some have said that he should have asked more follow-ups. personally i think that Bush hung himself and Russert let his words hang in the air like a noose.

he hit him with tough questions. ALL of them IMHO

3. He was more aggressive than I thought.
I was looking for a bunch of ass-kissing, but Russert did grill him. And yea, Bush just shot himself today.

2. So-so
Not nearly strong enough follow-up, but decent initial questions, with facts behind them. He allowed Bush to answer the "tough" questions, and Bush made himself look like a fucking fool.

5. IMO Russert did a good job
Obviously Russert, or any other journalist could easily put the final nail in Bush's coffin by asking questions and forcing him to answer directly. As is, Bush never answers tough questions, and he never will. That's his game, let him play it. Every time he appears in public, regardless of the setting he does a fine job of hanging himself. Russert gave him lots of rope and let him tie the noose himself.

Any average viewer (non-freeper) who sees the MTP performance will have an easy time understanding that Bush is completely devoid of intelligence and incapable of telling the truth. He's so toast.

6. Russert did a good job because...
...he's the consummate MW. He can see what's coming and wants to be slightly ahead of the curve. Actually he's just showing us that corporate America is more powerful than political America.

9. Is he really toast?
I agree that it was quite obvious to the discerning viewer that Bush was dodging all the questions. On the other hand, he stayed very much on topic--fear and patriotism. You have to trust me because it's scary out there and I tell you that I know what I am doing. All wrapped in his false patriotism.

But I wonder. This type of strategy has played well in the past. Has the average swing voter gotten wise, or is Bush's strategy still working?

10. In all fairness to Mr. Russert, he did very well, anything more would have
been censured. Mr. Russert went as far as he could without disturbing the hen house.

junior was redundant and insipid thus proving to us folks again that his communication skills are lacking. It was a dreadfully long hour to sit through.
