'I'M not going to lose' The ULTIMATE Overreach
The Greeks called it hubris...

I strongly suspect this quote will be the soundbyte from MTP that will make it into this news (spin) cycle.

Americans have typically never responded well to being TOLD that they are going to elect someone... Remember Wilkie?

This will not go over well. Bush approval ratings continue to drop this week.

1. sounds like a threat to me....
this is actually a good sign if it really is hubris, if it really is overconfidence, if they really believe their own propaganda, that everyone loves W except for a few loony left liberal types.

On the other hand, this might just be a sign that they plan to either cancel the elections, or will pull of a "terrorist attack" that will then allow them to do that or something along those lines.

2. It sounded and looked like a threat.
Did you see his beady eyes become little slits as he glared into the camera and repeated, chantlike, that he was NOT going to lose.

:scared:

4. Bush had that same reptilian cool
during the Florida returns. Sitting in front of a TV in a hotel room, he was untroubled and certain when asked if he was worried about his chances (some networks had already called the state for Gore). Poppy horned in with a lame joke about how he was nervous enough for the both of them, laughing too loud, with a blustery bonhomie. You could smell something filthy was going on.

6. I didnt like it when he said that
* seems overconfident to me. the quote saying I'm not going to lose kinda has me worried. I just hope its him being overconfident and he is going to lose in November. but I think something is up.

7. Oh man did you see
the look on his face when he said that. This guy really does think he is appointed by god. We mere mortal voters are just a bunch of pests standing in his path of total world domination. If he gets re elected expect many more wars folks.

9. He's doesn't give a shit about the election
him and Rove have it all figured out. They have one last trick up their sleeves and they are so arrogant that they think they can get away with it again. Hopefully their arrogance will be their downfall.

With tinfoil hat firmly in place:

Just before the repug convention, al Qaeda will blow up the Statue of Liberty. The landmark has been closed to the public since 9-11, so it is a high value target that will have few casualties. Then W will hunt Osama until the last week of October, with a dramatic battle in Afghanistan where Osama is killed and his body is broadcast repeatedly in the media for the next two weeks.
