on the AWOL question. His response to those charges will be to warn his opponents about denegrating the National Guard, as if that service is not as important as regular military service.

In other words, anyone who questions HIS service in the guard is really questioning the service of EVERYONE who served in the guard.

Every president who has gone to war has raised taxes...bush's answer, cut taxes, because slow down in growth is non stimulation.

Bush is running on rich tax cuts.....and cares not for the nation.

He is in his element now....he is getting feisty because it talking taxes, something he is well rehearsed in.

Another break, commercial time.

SO far, bus looked really pressured. The tax question got him into his element, and if Russert is smart, he'll come back with serious questions about how the tax cuts are killing the treasury...we'll see

78. I think the operative phrase is 'looking' for work.
Personally, I'd rather have work than look for it.

59. Does this man know another pronoun other than "I"
I will not allow; I will not have any of it; I will not permit; I will not condone.

George, It's OUR country too.

61. OMG what a lie!
If you look at the appropriations bills that were passed under my watch, in the last year of President Clinton, discretionary spending was up 15 percent, and ours have steadily declined.

What!!!! That's just an outright lie! Discretionary spending has increased under Bush at a much greater rate than under Clinton. Good God, Tim, follow up!

72. Whew...I agree...
I went to the transcript that Robb had linked to w/MSNBC, and you do not get the "er's", "uh's", pauses, etc.

It is incredible that this guy can even think that he can be re-elected. He IS an idiot, these were some relatively tough questions considering that Russert is a GOP shill, albeit felt lined.

bush is the most embarrassinf individual that has even sat in the Oval Office.

Trying to type without typo's was hard as hell, LOL, I felt like bush's 'brain to mouth' there for a bit. Guess I got more typo's than bush got facts though.

Edited on Sun Feb-08-04 10:07 AM by Marianne
question about being a uniter with about 70percent of the people saying he is not compares himself to Reagun. Bush says he is not going to change his philosophy or change what he believes in. Good!!! that is and always has been his blind, tough guy, arrogant huge mistake. Black hats vs white hats.

If you think he is an embarrassment to this country, how about his father----Jesus, ever man wants to be proud of his son---Why doesn't the old man rain this kid in----some one needs to take him out behind the woodshed....

Bush 41, was at least a professional---Ex CIA and from what I have read, professional -----Can you imagine bringing this jerk home to meet the parents, if he wasn't already married to pickles----this whole thing is sick----

93. One more thing
At the beginning........

I'm a war president. I make decisions here in the Oval Office in foreign policy matters with war on my mind. Again, I wish it wasn't true, but it is true. And the American people need to know they got a president who sees the world the way it is. And I see dangers that exist, and it's important for us to deal with them.

At the end...........

"Who can properly use American power in a way to make the world a better place, and who understands that the true strength of this country is the hearts and souls of the American citizens, who understands times are changing and how best to have policy reflect those times.

And I look forward to a good campaign. I know exactly where I want to lead the country. I have shown the American people I can lead. I have shown the American people I can sit here in the Oval Office when times are tough and be steady and make good decisions, and I look forward to articulating what I want to do the next four years if I'm fortunate enough to be their president."

Truly scarey!!!!

98. Could somebody tell me what this means?
and why did Russert say it?

Russert: You were both in Skull and Bones, the secret society.

President Bush: It's so secret we can't talk about it.

Russert: What does that mean for America? The conspiracy theorists are going to go wild.

President Bush: I'm sure they are. I don’t know. I haven't seen the (unintel) yet. (Laughs)

Russert: Number 322.

President Bush: First of all, he's not the nominee, and I look forward
