Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance

Noam Chomsky

Description: From the United Nations Correspondents Association in New York City, Noam Chomsky discusses the "Bush doctrine" and its implications. In particular, Professor Chomsky addresses the Bush administration's space policy and its overall efforts to expand U.S. influence and power. He also talks about the case of British whistleblower Katherine Gun, who leaked a memo stating that the NSA had been spying on UN Security Council members, and discusses the charges against the Cuban 5, who were convicted of espionage in 2001. Professor Chomsky answers questions from members of the correspondents association following his remarks.

Author Bio: Noam Chomsky, a professor of linguistics and philosophy at MIT, is the author of numerous books on U.S. foreign policy, including "American Power and the New Mandarins," "Political Economy of Human Rights" (two volumes, written with Edward Herman), "Fateful Triangle: The United States, Israel, and the Palestinians," and "Pirates and Emperors, Old and New: International Terrorism in the Real World."

4. let's hope
the egregiously ignorant MOR shill Ken Auletta, on the same formatted show last weekend, majorly dissed Chomsky, praising his linguistic contributions, but made fun of his political pronouncements.

this cause many callers to challenge his assertion, during which he revealed he had no clue as to Chomsky's philosophy, the fundament thereof, much less any understanding of the way the world of realpolitik works.

5. Holy CRAP!!
Your mentioning Chomsky flashed a dream from last night back into my head. I have no recollection of the specifics, but I was chatting with Chomsky and thanked him for his efforts. Shook his hand. That's about all I can remember.

Time to take a vacation. Or maybe to check my health plan.
