Paul O'Neill Posts Bush Admin. Documents on Website!
Now you can do more than just read Ron Suskind's account of Paul O'Neill's years at Treasury. Many of the source documents are available here:

http://thepriceofloyalty.ronsuskind.com/thebushfiles/
The Bush Files are an unprecedented public offering of documents drawn from a collection of 19,000 files of Paul H. O'Neill, the U.S. Treasury Secretary for the first two years of the Presidency of George W. Bush. Like all Treasury Secretaries, O'Neill was the top domestic appointment of the President and also a principal of the National Security Council. The documents, initially posted here are the ones mentioned in The Price of Loyalty. They range from memoranda to the President to handwritten notes to "sensitive" internal reports, cover a sweeping array of foreign and domestic issues.
For example, check out O'Neill's handwritten reply to this backhanded attack memo from Bush loyalist and Budget Director Larry Lindsey:

There is some very cool stuff here.

1. But does anyone expect our media to do more than reprint Rove memos?
They don't care about "proof"

Indeed they invented the "who are you going to believe - your lying eyes, or me" form of GOP biased journalism once Reagan had veto'd the "Fairness" act in 87.

2. Hope this generates more hits/searches than Janet's nipple.
And that they've got the bandwidth to handle the demand.

I'm going to be reading all of it over the weekend I hope.

Thanks for the heads-up.

6. You do realize the fax #'s are legible, right?
The fax went to Larry Lindsey, Mitch Daniels and Andrew Card

The fax #'s are(in order of transmission - does first thru correspond to first on list?);
395-3888 at 11:45
456-0127 at 11:48
456-1907 at 11:50

With O'neill's fax # 202-622-0073

Now Mitch is gone, so presumably his replacement will get the fax and John Snow should be at Paul's old number.

The fax's show a 9 as a leading number, which is typical of interoffice systems to dial "out". They should all be area code 202 though.

Add these to your next fax, or hell forward that vacation deal or next big stick tip fax you get over your machine. Be creative, have fun! Remember, YOU paid for it!

8. Oh, Wow -- You're Right!
We can all fax stuff into Larry Lindsey's office now! This could allow for some interesting tricks.

9. I think Andy Card is the best target.
Edited on Fri Feb-06-04 06:12 PM by FoeOfBush
He is probably the 395 # as he would be in a different bldg than Larry and Mitch. Fax bush*s "resume" to Mr Card and watch the hilarity ensue!

Also for those enterprising souls, usually numbers issued bulk are sequential, is 395-3889 cheney?, is 395-3890 rice? or bush*? Many times the phone numbers are in the same series. Myabe 395-3883 rings the red phone in the oval office?

Anyone work in a telemarketers office and wanna try some cold calling?

10. Did you read the memo from Larry Lindsay?
In it he references something like "from the time it was determined that the pResident would take office?"

Is he admitting he's unelected?
