The debate has shifted to AWOL
According to a CNN talking head. He seems pro-Bush, trying to spin this that it will hurt dems to accuse Bush of being AWOL, "especially if he catches Osama."

It will? Why?

The good news is, AWOL is a BIG topic today. WNYC just did a whole radio show about it. It is everywhere. As it should be. But really...just WHO is this guy thinking will be offended but the Bush AWOL claim? If every one of his supporters were offended, so what? He has a realistic support number of about 30%. Why should we care if we offend voters stupid enough to impeach for a blow job but give a pass on lying the country into war?

1. yeah, really ...
What does our troops snagging OBL have to do with Shrub not showing up for service some 30 years ago ?

Was Georgie out there in his F-15 chasin' OBL across the desert ? NO.

Have hundreds of our troops been injured and killed on this insane 'war on terror' while Georgie just never bothered to show up for his cush-ass guard duty, safe stateside ? YES.

Is there any friggin' comparison between the chimp and the real patriots out there in the sand ? NO.

The media needs to be called on its complicity in helping KKKarl draw those totally irrelevant and baseless parallels that he uses so often to blur & distract & confuse.

3. They are whistling past ...
... AWOL's graveyard. Bush's poll numbers have done nothing but sink since this has come out. Kerry handled it perfectly - let his surrogates attack and then throw the question back at the White House.

6. Kerry's handling - If he never outright attacks W, yet the Repukes claim
that he is attacking W's record, shouldn't he answer with something like:

"I attacked Bush's military service record in the same way that Bush said that Saddam Hussein was an 'imminent threat'."

That could let some of the air out of the W supporters, since they would have to admit that W pushed it, even though he never said those two words, just to justify attacking Kerry.
