Iowa DU'rs
Show up at the federal courthouse next Tuesday in support of the Iowa 4 and the National Lawyers Guild. Don't know how to post the story link, could someone please help. It can be found in desmoinesregister.com under Crime and Courts. Even my 76 year old father, retired Air Force, plans to attend. Lets make this big!

Fourth activist in D.M. ordered to testify

A federal investigation expanded Thursday as prosecutors subpoenaed a fourth peace activist to appear before a grand jury and secured a court order forbidding Drake University officials to discuss a demand for information about a November antiwar conference on campus.

Federal authorities so far have refused to disclose what the investigation is about or what laws might have been broken. But an officer with the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force served a subpoena to Wendy Vasquez of Des Moines on Thursday morning.

Vasquez, an antiwar activist who visited Iraq in 2002, was surprised.

"Just the whole idea that somebody would think I'm a terrorist is ludicrous," she said.

More at link.

I have forwarded this post to the Iowa Democratic party and my media contacts at the DSM Register. It would be nice to get some national coverage too. Anyone have connections at Frontline, how about Michael Moore? Any other thoughts?

3. Considering a road trip
I'm considering attending, I live in Wisconsin. Anyone for a little road trip? Des Moines democrats should provide places to stay for people who want to attend from out of state. Any links available? I don't need a place but if there were places I'm sure many more would attend. Mods, please keep this kicked and lets have a huge showing in Des Moines on Tuesday. Any other links on plans for the day? Thanks.
