15. That would be my bet
He's creating quite a problem for the Chimpanzee by insisting that Iraq be self ruled.

19. So instead of a secular Iraqi for a dictator
Iraq will end up with an Iranian fundamentalist cleric running the country? Way to go Bu$hCo.

3. so, it seems Bush has revealed how he planned on negotiating
about elections. Not surprising, we can't let those Iraqis choose a democracy we wouldn't like now could we?

4. I was really worried that
this would happen. He's the one causing chimpy all of the trouble. I believe that if anyone succeeds in assasinating this guy, there will truly be a civil war over there.

6. Civil War
If that man were to die from whatever cause short of a lightening strike I believe that country would break out into a civil war so violent that our military couldn't get out of the way fast enouogh to save themselves. It would make the evacuation of Siagon look like a church picknick.

9. Saigon 1975 ?? IRAN. . circa 1979. . . is more like it.
Nothing would give me greater pleasure than seeing * and the Repukes get blamed for "losing" Iraq!!

Massive payback for the way they savaged Jimmy Carter.

Hell, al-Sistani even LOOKS like Iran's Ayatollah Khomeini. Most 'Murkins are too stupid to know the difference.

11. islamists often don't act rationally
IMO killing Iraqi civilians doesn't serve their interests, but they do it anyway.

Like fanatics of any faith, their greatest hatred is reserved for those who claim to share their faith but don't agree with every little nitpicky point of doctrine.

13. killing iraqis serves their interests if those iraqis are collaborators
I know it makes you feel all better inside to think that the enemy is just a bunch of crazies, but they wouldn't have come as far as they have if they had no sense of strategy. They definitely know who their friends and their enemies are, and Sistani was as close to a friend as they were going to find in Iraq since he was causing troubles for their enemies (the US and Iraqi puppet regime)

16. case you hadn't noticed the suicide bombers dont just target collaborators
I'm not talking about the Iraqi resistance or the Ba'ath party/Saddam crime family holdovers, I'm talking about the Islamist fanatics. I have been studying religious fanatics for a long time, at home and abroad.

20. When have Iraqi suicide bombers targeted non-collaborators?
I don't remember any examples, but I could have forgotten about it.

22. and which attacks are from 'Baathists' and which are Islamist?
Because I don't know who committed which. In fact for all I know it's the German's committing these attacks in Iraq since no real investigation is ever done. Instead we have explosions and then the CPA comes out 1 hour later and says it was Baathists or Islamists, silly me, but I trust that as much as I trust Limbaugh.

21. i assumed that was saddam's cachet...
keeping iraq unified and functioning, .... one thing that defies understanding is, when saddam KNEW the west was throwing him away, why didn't he offer Kurds autonomy, a surefire trick to embroil iran and turkey in the situation, with US everybody's problem, but NOOO, nothing ever adds up when the BFEE is both hero and villain (saddam, like noriega, was a CIA asset the entire time) burning the candle at both ends
