Does anyone else but me get the sense that either Cheney is the
most corrupt politician that ever lived or that he's the dumbest CEO that ever headed a company, even beating out Ken Lay? The guy headed a company that dealt with governments that our own government put sanctions on and ripped off the US Treasury in fradulent billings. Halliburton supported and bribed foreign governments for contract. But Dickhead keeps saying he didn't know anything about it.

In my opinion, this can only go one of two ways. The guys an total incompetent moran, or he's a lying sack of shit. So how in the hell does he have the right to be VP? He doesn't, plain and simple. Shame on the republican party for allowing this guy any say in our government.

1. I don't think it's an either/or situation.
It's quite possible that he one of the most corrupt politicians AND one of the dumbest CEOs. He is also both an incompetent moran AND a lying sack of shit

HOUSTON -- Halliburton Co. on Thursday posted a net loss of $947 million for the fourth quarter 2003 because of a $1.1 billion charge related to the oilfield services conglomerate's pending $4.17 billion settlement of hundreds of thousands of asbestos claims.

Including the charge, the company reported a loss of $2.17 per share, compared with a net loss of $616 million, or $1.42 per share, in the fourth quarter 2002, which also reflected losses related to the asbestos settlement.

<snip>
Halliburton inherited the asbestos claims when the conglomerate, while under Cheney's leadership, bought Dresser Industries Inc. for $7.7 billion. Cheney left Halliburton in 2000 to be President Bush's running mate.

BTW: He got a 35 million dollar parachute when he left. Corrupt ain't the word for this thief!

4. Isn't there some connection with * and Dresser Industries?

Wasn't one of his grandfathers or great grandfathers involved with Dresser?

Edited to add:

I vote for Cheney as being one of the most evil and corrupt men of all time.

3. It's called the "Rope a Dope"
Play dumb, bide your time, inaction is the path to success. Cheney once stated that in a previous administration, his mantra was "Don't just do something, stand there." This is the mentality that caused 9/11.
