Miller and Miller, two sellouts to Bush...
Anyway...
Zell Miller said that service in Vietnam (and essentially the past) isn't important for this coming election. He said that what would really be important is what the person did after 9/11.
Well, I gotta say, I couldn't agree more. Let's run on this issue.
Let's see, what has Bush done since 9/11....
He pushed through the patriot act, which weakens our civil liberties, by envoking the memory of 9/11.
He has failed to bring those responsible to justice.
He has resisted the committe to invesitgate 9/11, he has denied them necessary funding, and he has classified essential documents in the name of national security.
He has started a war with a nation that posed to imminent threat to us, and the reasons listed for the war have been now proven to be false. In his rush to war, he has spread our troops too thin, cut their pensions, reduced combat pay, and is detracting from the "war on terror".
He has spent more money annually than anyone in history, and is posting the largest deficits on record, to the tune of half a trillion dollars a year.
He asks our citizens to sacrafice for a common good, yet he has annually passed tax cuts for our wealthiest citizens, who are sacraficing nothing.
He has allowed a murderer who spread mayhem throught the country by sending anthrax through the mail to go free, and now we have a similar attack by someone using ricin.
I could go on and on...
But ultimately, Zell Miller is right. What matters for this election is what people have done since 9/11.
Right now, as usual, Bush is a
