Worse Than The AWOL
What really makes me madder than the dud's AWOL is hearing some airhead call him a Fighter Pilot.

At least for the AWOL I can say that he was there more than he wasn't there, meaning, yeah, he missed a year, but he showed up with at least a little regularity for the rest of the years he was in. But to equate that damdable coward to an actual Fighter Pilot when he himself refused to take his Physical/drug-test and was grounded never to fly again, well, that's quite another story.

Just makes me mad, that's all .....

Thom

1. I agree
My husband was a real fighter pilot in a real war and got shot at (his plane was hit once).

Kerry has it right. Prancing around on an air craft carrier is not the same thing as being a fighter pilot.

2. I think this is KEY...forget about AWOL....ask him WHY he stopped FLYING~
he QUIT flying

WHY?

WHY?

WHY?

has he EVER answered that?

what did he say in that execrable "autobiography" he "wrote?"

I know he mentioned flying, but did he mention that he DIDN't FLY AT ALL from mid 72 until the end of his service, which, of course, he skipped out of early

speaking of which, HOW OFTEN were people allowed to STOP serving their contracted-for service? has anyone heard about anyone getting out six months early? who WOULDN'T want to get out as early as possible, if they weren't making it a career?

3. I believe 'prancing' is actually Clark's original putdown.
I know of people who actually believe that aWol landed the plane on that carrier.

Someday I hope to convince them if a fool pilot and a fool Secret Service had allowed such an attempt, that mission would have accomplished a lot of smoke and fire and a greasy black spot on the deck. And we'd have Cheney for prez and probably Tom Delay for VP.

4. Wasn't Dud's phone number in Barry Seal's Wallet?
Maybe that's who had his Awol records? Just gets weirder everyday!?!
