1. He'll be refuting Kay's contention that bad intel caused this
administration's action to war. But I can't see how this will be anything but a broadside against the WH spin that is was an intelligence failure.

I'm hoping that he'll lay the blame on the Office of Special Plan's who took the raw intel and custom tailored it to fit the Cheney/Rumsfield plan to grab the oil.

2. Bush Should Have Gotten Rid of Tenet Before
Now, if he gets fired after scoring a major hit against the administration, it will correctly look like a revenge firing.

Maybe Bush didn't want an EX-director of the CIA walking around with nothing to lose. Trouble is, now he's got an acting director in the same position.

3. I think Tenet's been bought
to take a big hit for Shrubbie & then $link away into a $$$quiet$$$ retirement $$$omewhere, maybe with a $$$inecure po$ition in the Carly$$$le Group.

12. Recall Bill Casey, Reagan/GHWB CIA Director 1981-1987
Bill knew where all the Iran/Contra skeletons were buried (literally and metaphorically). But then he conveniently died of "brain cancer" days before he was scheduled to give testimony to Congress. Hmmm.

Here's hoping Tenet does not face a similar fate and instead stands tall for the men and women he leads.

10. I think you are right. Otherwise he would have resigned in protest
a long time ago.

5. Tenet is....
a long time family friend of the Bushes....he is not going to blame the WH for anything...if anything he will take the blame again like he did for the yellowcake from Niger making its way into the State of the Union Speech in 2003.

6. I think Tenet was allowed...
To keep his job despite the massive intel bone-up of 911. In return, he coughed up pro-WMD data for invasion purposes. He has served his purpose now.

I have no evidence to support my outrageous speculations.

7. Wouldn't get my hopes up
I assume he'll just say "we gave 'em the best evidence we had, everybody thought Saddam had WMDs, Clinton, the French, blah blah blah." The "No One Could Have Known" defense in all its familiar glory. Wasn't our fault, surely wasn't Bush's fault, musta been no one's fault. Except Clinton's of course.

11. I'm inclined to agree Dr.
Strange but true. Even people who abhor what administrations and pols do there is an unwritten pledge that nothing should be done that will upset the workings of government. In the interests of national security, of course.

9. Rummy is saying...
maybe he'll finally reveal gains towards finding some indicators that there were indeed weapons or concrete plans for them in one form or another.

I doubt very seriously that he'd get up there & say that the spooks were pressured to sex up their intelligence. I also doubt that someone from the White House hasn't already talked to him about what he's going to say.
