Special Forces Marine says they got Laden early on in Afgan.

this is from a letter in the buzzflash mailbag. think of it what you will.

http://www.buzzflash.com/mailbag/04/02/mai04031.html

Dear BuzzFlash:

I'm an occasional visitor to your site, but think you are great. Keep it up.

I do visit a pretty sedate forum where politics are discussed as well as other subjects. This was posted yesterday - I don't know the validity, but the person who wrote it seems pretty genuine. Thought I would pass it on - you perhaps might know channels where someone can investigate further. Would not want to get this young man into trouble for talking though.

I had lunch today with a physician friend of mine. She told me that two days ago her office nurse had her boyfriend come by the office to meet her. He was a Special Forces Marine that had just returned from a tour in Afghanistan. Over lunch he began talking about his experiences in Afghanistan. He told how he had lost his faith in the military and the Bush administration. But the bombshell was that the Special Forces group he was assigned to had captured Osama Bin Laden early on in the Afghanistan war. After they captured him they were directed to take him to an undisclosed location and turn him over to another group of military intelligence. He said "Honest to God I saw Bin Laden with my own two eyes". She said she was certain this young man was telling her the truth

some of us have joked that Laden is in the white house basement, bowling, swimming and watching movies.

but then again, maybe Laden is still loose and still hates the bushgang.

2. My cousin's uncle's boyfriend's roommate saw bin Laden.
He was sipping Singapore Slings on a beach in the US Virgin Isles with Elvis and Dick Cheney.

3. What is a "Special Forces Marine"?
Edited on Wed Feb-04-04 01:01 PM by Bandit
Is that a SEAL or what. Special Forces is Army. Or at least associated with Army. Marines are marines. As far as I know there are no "Special Forces Marines". It is the same thing as saying an Army Marine

17. No they are not ~ They are Special Operations
Edited on Wed Feb-04-04 01:24 PM by Bandit
Special Forces are a branch of military that is associated with the Army and Army only. I belonged to the Fifth Special Forces Group in 1968 and at that time Special Forces was an entity all it's own. Now Special Operations on the other hand is a conglomerate of all elite groups including Special Forces.

10. I would not be surprised at all to find out they have him on ice
in fact, that's what I've thought for a while, even though I said it as a joke.

the Bush gang is craven and they will do anything to get and maintain power. they defied the Constitution of the United States to take power. They lied to the American people and violated the Nuremberg Conventions to invade Iraq.

They outed a CIA agent.

They impunged a veteran who had lost multiple limbs in Vietnam and put his picture next to Osama's to question his patriotism.

What's the big deal about capturing Osama and holding onto him until they need an October surprise to win?

Kissinger was involved in dirtier tricks which cost 20,000 American lives in Vietnam to delay the peace talks in Vietnam to give the election to Nixon.

Kissinger is wanted as a war criminal in four or five countries, yet Bush appointed this criminal to head the 9-11 commission.

Kissinger stepped down when Americans were outraged, then Bush appointed a man who was in biz with the brother of bin Laden and a known financier of terrorism until three weeks before Kean's appt. to that commission.

It's nothing for them to have bin Laden in some Mosul motel 6 on dialysis waiting for the opportune moment to parade him before a gullible and propaganda fed citizenry.

ChimpCo Inc. would have us viewing Bin Laden's dental exam on whore news all day, in order to deflect interest from chimpy's excellent AWOL adventure.

22. They need OBL for October
Right now he's in the undisclosed location with Dick Cheney sipping pineapple juice and chatting about the Reagan Days. On October 25, they'll get a makeup artist to give him just the right dirtiness around the face and ears, dress him in rags, fly him to Afghanistan and put him in a hole for 5th Special Forces Group to "find."

Thus ensuring Dubya's election.

independent corroboration.

Sorry, but right now it doesn't pass independent scrutiny.

18. Remember Sy Hersh's article in the New Yorker
back in...late 2001 or early 2002.

He noted that our forces had Al Qaeda surrounded on three sides in the Tora Bora region, in which Osama was supposed to be hiding out.

Someone at the "highest levels of government" according to Hersh, had to give the order to stand down so that Pakistan could fly out 5000 people in the area...including the ISI, Pakistan's secret police which sided with Osama and the Taliban in the fighting in Afghanistan.

Later, Sheikh Muhammed something or another...the Al Q. "mastermind" of finance, supposedly, was captured in Pakistan.

If you go to unansweredquestions.com, Paul has some interesting articles on this capture, which seemed to happen twice, and the first time the guy was killed in a fire fight..until he turned up not dead.

So, no, this rumor does not confirm or deny anything.

However, it is entirely believable to me that they have Osama and are waiting until the Republican convention in NYC to unveil their "product" --after all, Nov. isn't August, which, as Andy Card noted, was not the time to roll out a new propaganda product.

What a load of crap!

As other posters have pointed out, there are no Special Forces Marines, and there are no Special Operations Marines either.

This is about as credible as Bush's claims about WMD!
