Has Peter Jennings joined The Empire?

I have watched this guy for years, and felt he does a pretty good job. I have admired in particular the various specials he has done, including some to give historic background to current events.

But he seems to have developed a new attitude over the last 2 weeks, around the same time as ABC changed the set of ABCNews Tonight. Where he used to point out inconsistencies, he now seems to be broadcasting the Bushista program. It's really kind of spooky.

Has he been replaced by a Pod Person? Was he tortured until he agreed to be a Chimperial Cheerleader? Wake up with a horse's head in his bed? Did the producers tell him what a great time they were having with their tax cut and say it would be sad if something happened to his pretty face?

I just can't see how someone who actually professionally follows the news would become a smirkista convert, after all what even he himself has reported to us about His Chimperial Majesty over the last 3 years.

Then I was shocked to hear him back down so easily whenever he was called liberal. He seems to be going out of his way to show that he's not, and the Repukes still despise him.
Don't these people ever learn that it never pays to kowtow to bullies?
By the way, I was also disgusted with his "there's no reason to think that Oswald didn't act alone" special on the 40th anniversary of JFK's death.
