Has anyone in the media said this besides me?

2. No, it was a staged thing.
It was planned well ahead of time, no harm no foul.

5. Schwarzeneggering: Unwanted Grope...
Edited on Tue Feb-03-04 06:03 PM by FullCountNotRecount
My point was that the media seem to think Arnold's physical assaults were not worth talking about but Justin's theatrical grope/strip...

Get the hypocrisy?

9. simulated "unwanted advances" are in style now
the agressive male, the prop-like, submissive female, are themes which are getting the pop treatment quite a bit lately. There was nothing unplanned in this, from his posturing to her look of victimhood. It's what really offended me by the whole thing. If Janet had merely done a Mardi-gras, it wouldn't have had the right message they wanted to deliver, IMHO

11. Spot on!!
That's what I've been saying all along. It doesn't matter that she was a fully willing party to the involtunary (sic) disrobing, it's the message that involuntary disrobing is cool, or passes for entertainment, or whatever. It sucks.

13. "I'll get you naked by the end of this song" he said...
and even now, the 'shock' is over the fragile minds who were corrupted by the sight of HER, not over anything HE did. Notice how they pooh-pooh about it now, saying he was only supposed to rip off one layer and leave her bra exposed. Ah, that's ok then. Damn that Janet Jackson for having boobs that cannot be contained during a simple family-friendly, prime-time faux-assault...

sometimes being white, southern, American, and male, is a bit embarassing to me... :evilfrown:

4. It wasn't a pastie per se. It was a pierced nipple ornament
that went through the tip. It was attached to a sort of sunburst thing that "framed" the nipple - held in place by a crossbar that pierced the tip. Seems to me it was a body ornament that was designed to be fully seen. I mean, when I saw a picture of it, the first thought I had was - SHEESH, how can you wear a bra over that?

7. Oh, yes and then some.
My thought was it was very demeaning to all women first off. Then, Janet is Michael's sister and we know how the media wants to tear him apart. Hey, why not keep it the whole family. And then, I can't help this thought: The vision of 1854 came to mind and the auction block in Charleston, SC where slave traders would strip the women to show those sickly "gentlemen" planters what they could get in addition, to a fieldhand. CBS is pathetic.

12. Yeah, but Tina Turner's actually talented. (and bangable).
I think the more valid comparison to Janet Jackson is the other half time flasher last sunday.
