I haven't heard Rush's drug-induced screed yet, but I heard two different "right-wing" commentators -- one local, and one syndicated -- parroting virtually the same justification or, as they put it, "truth." Interestingly, they each suggested that the "liberal" attack on Shrub's military record is an insult to reservists everywhere.

What nonsense!

It should only be an insult to those reservists who, during times of conflict, used family connections to obtain favorable treatment and avoid personal harm while others less fortunate bled and died in their place.

It should be an insult only to those reservists who failed to honor their de minimis military obligations by being AWOL, while their contemporaries risked their lives for country.
