Pheasant hunt dogs Cheney

GOP image-groomers are working overtime to show voters the tender, caring side of Vice President Cheney. But feathered creatures still might want to keep their distance.
We told you in December how Cheney killed an estimated 70 ring-necked pheasants in a single morning at a hunt club in Pennsylvania. According to reports, Cheney and a nine-man entourage, which included NFL Hall of Famer Roger Staubach, bagged 417 of the 500 birds released in a "canned hunt."

Animals activists blasted Cheney for the bloodbath.

Outraged sportsmen pointed to the example of President Bush, who hunted quail in the wild on New Year's Day in Falfurrias, Tex., with his father.

It wasn't long before Cheney headed to Falfurrias himself. On Jan. 16, he - along with George H.W. Bush and U.S. Special Envoy James Baker 3rd - hunted for several days on a 50,000-acre ranch owned by former ambassador Anne Armstrong and her husband, Tobin.

This was a few days after Cheney and Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia went duck hunting in Louisiana

4. Disappointed in Staubach
I'm disappointed that the quarterback for America's Team turns out to be a sicko who gets his kicks by killing little animals. Say it ain't to.

5. Your title CRACKED me up!
The image conjured by your words is one
I would empty my savings account for the price of
a ticket to see!
Cheney's hunting escapades are a very accurate
metaphor for the way he sees US.
Prey...to be hunted down and wasted in the name of sport.

6. What I SAW vs what you wrote...
Ah, the magic of wishful thinking.
I read, "Pheasant Dogs HUNT Cheney."
You have to admit THAT would make for good entertainment.
I would donate all three of my dogs for that event and I would pay BIG
bucks to see it.
