Preston, author of Demon in the Freezer, is on CNN this morning with information about ricin.
Preston notes that ricin is favored by home-grown terrorists, and also notes that it is not, generally, as potent as anthrax.
So, two "bio-attacks" on offices of the American govt are most likely the work of American terrorists.
As was noted with the anthrax attacks, these American terrorists are almost certainly from the right wing.
Will Ashcroft, then, be unable to find out anything about the ricin incident, in the same way that his office has been totally ineffective in the anthrax case?
...not to mention the way the FBI, according to an October Vanity Fair article, has been ineffective, and has actualy impeded efforts to identify the anthrax terrorist?
HOWEVER, Ashcroft can make sure that a man in Colorado who suffers from multiple severe illnesses has marijuana that he grows for medicinal purposes confiscated from his home.
Ashcroft can make sure that Tommy Chong is arrested for selling bongs.
Ashcroft, however, cannot get together an investigation of White House Administrators, and fails to protect the American public's legal interests by giving the White House a week or so to destroy documents concerning an investigation into the source of a leak which outed a CIA agent who was involved in the hunt for WMD.
Can we get deputized and go to Washington and arrest these idiots?
