An important question on the Ricin attack
Edited on Tue Feb-03-04 04:52 AM by professor_pot
as someone posted on yahoo message boards- "If any maniac walked into ANY of thousands of fast food restaurants in America and spread this onto stacks of white napkins, a lot more people will be sniffing it in no time.
What kind of idiot will be mailing this out in small packets?"

That is a very important question that needs to be answered. Why would terrorists- whose aim is to bring death without detection- chose such a visible, low-chance-of-success route?
Is it because the people who are behind this do not want to cause death, but public hysteria and panic?

I wonder who gains most from public hysteria about terror attacks?

1. And the timing is interesting ...
.. given the political significance of the day.

Perhaps the "terrorists" who are choosing this method are the ones who are thinking of staging terrorist attacks with transatlantic planes with EMPTY fuel tanks.

As I've posted elsewhere, it's difficult NOT to be a conspiracy theorist these days.

3. Nice going here, Evil DUers!
I was all set to post my usual "What are we not supposed to be noticing while the RICIN ATTACK dominates the (alleged) news," but I see y'all are already on it!
