John McCain has broke rank and is siding with Democrats
for an Independent investigation into WMD. I remember it was the Republicans who went to Nixon and told him it was time to go, so will other Repubs join McCain as they see the Bush ship is sinking on WMD,
Medicare over cost by 1/3, Budget deficit as far as the eye can see says some, and his sinking poll numbers now revealed by the media?

2. Is he complaining about bu$h's commission?
He has been for an independent investigation for awhile but he was all for waiting until after the election for the results to be made public. Is he complaining about the administrations solution?

6. I think you nailed my sentiments on the head.
Every time you think McCain is about to do something sane, he turns back into a Republican.

11. You can't count on him, that's true
Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 10:37 PM by Woodstock
Every now and then he peeps through as that rare species - a decent Republican who actually has morals. Then he does something rotten like campaign for Bush, who is evil incarnate.

5. We need another prominent Repub or cabient member to break ranks
Can't Republicans ever tell when the Emperor has no clothes?

Loyalty to Country & Constitution should trump loyalty to a GOP President.

12. That bugs me too
I think his lifetime military experience has him completely brainwashed about breaking the ranks for real.

I wanted to think he was a stand up guy, even if I don't agree with him on policy decisions. Felt the same way about Powell. But sadly, they either cannot or will not stand on their own.

8. More McCain Bullshit...

How long will people here continue to get suckered by McCain...

It's just more good cop/bad cop bullshit by the repubs to cover for Bush.

Does anyone here actually think that Bush will actually appoint someone who will get to the bottom of this? If you do I have a bridge to sell you...

It is really disgusting to watch people fawn all over McCain when all he is doing is covering for Bush.

18. Yes, definitely
John McCain comes over to the liberal side on maybe three issues and people think he's a good guy. Please don't buy into the McCain myth.

Check out his voting record. Hardcore right winger to the bone.

He's far from being another Jim Jeffords or Arlen Specter, who really are moderate Republicans. McCain has a worse record than Jon Kyl from the ACLU.

campaigning for * in NH? I keep thinking McCain will make the big leap - not across the aisle, but to the angels' side of this November's election. HOw he can support Bush over fellow war heroes Kerry or Clark is beyond me.

14. You mean McCain thinks there's going to BE one?
I mean, if all you're saying is that he's come out in favor of Bush's Whitewash and Delay Commission, well, I'm not all that impressed. Can you fill in a few details here?

16. McCain might not be as gracious a loser
Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 10:45 PM by candy331
as one might think. Who knows what he is inwardly plotting for the smearing he took in the loss to Bush. Bush himself did not forget that "Saddam tried to kill my daddy" and 10 years/so later he went to avenge it. We only see the outside of a person and only can guess at what is on the inside. Perhaps McCain has been patiently waiting to get his revenge.

17. McCain will promote Bush* when the election comes no matter what
He has an odious voting record. Is about as conservative as they get when voting for and against legislation. I sometimes think that some liberals like him because they are hypnotized by the media--and the media love McCain.

Back him up on getting that indy investigation. We need to keep the issue alive and we CAN'T let $hrub control this thing and then sweep it under the rug with all his other garbage.
