Bush Budget - here are some of the cuts

Here are programs that are being cut to finance taxcuts and war.

President Bush (news - web sites)'s budget plan would reduce spending for community police, water projects and other programs popular with lawmakers as well as broad programs ranging from environmental protection to agriculture.

Sixty-five government programs, 38 of them education-related, would be eliminated for a saving of $4.9 billion. Spending cuts would be sought in 63 others in the budget plan unveiled Monday.

5. 4.9 billion
none of which would have to be cut if Bush hadn't INCREASED THE MILITARY BUDGET!

Man, this is really pathetic. I really don't like the idea of my tax dollars funneling straight into the military. :-(

budget" is code talk for "gave it to Haliburton, Carlyle..." It sure doesn't go to the troops or their equipment. Truly sick that the biggest recipients of the tax cut are the ones who buy bottled water, send their kids to private schools, and don't need health insurance.
