Bush offers immunity to oil companies in Iraq
Lawless, as usual.

"President Bush has issued an Executive Order, so far completely unreported, that purports to grant broad legal immunity to oil companies operating in Iraq. The Order is, on its face, outrageous, and should be investigated.

http://www.archives.gov/federal_register/executive_orders/2003.html#13303">Executive Order 13303, issued on May 22, 2003, claims to be essential to Iraqi reconstruction efforts. A cursory reading of the Order indicates that its real purpose is to protect oil companies by giving virtual impunity for any activities undertaken relating to Iraqi oil.

This Order, with broad language that seems to sweep aside federal statutes, including the Alien Tort Claims Act, has received no public attention. It has been brought to light by a researcher with the http://www.seen.org/BushEO.shtml">Sustainable Energy and Environment Network (SEEN)."

2. Are we living out a bad dream or what?
It is just as Orwell said in his book “Some people are more equal than others”, are at least that is the way shrub and his gang of crooks see it.

5. That's for sure
And if Bush is elected in 2004 and the repuke sweep continues, I'm out of here by any legal means necessary. America will not get a further penny out of me.

Maybe I'm wrong for ditching a sinking ship, but if this is the direction America wants to go - then I want nothing to do with America. I'm tired of being second-class and part of being the underdog.

6. Connection with the Iraq War
I can't believe that something like this could go uninvestigated. I used to dismiss any connections between the war on Iraq and oil as incorrect conspiracy theories, but now I am forced to acknowledge that there must have been some connection. Granting legal immunity to any oil company is purely immoral.
