What will now happen to Saddham...
now that Kay has testified. Will he have a good case for being let free or get off light?

sorry if this has been discussed here already. I've been away from the board since the Kay testimony. If that's the case, can someone share the consensus.

1. Saddam will not see the light of day
nor any member of the press until * has another 4 years. Saddam's entire story is one of US and Oil exec manipulation. He has been our patsy for multiple decades now. Anything he has to say can only damage Bush Co.

2. It is interesting that there is no cry for a trial
He's been disappeared again.

8. Ha Ha! They would never win such a trial or proving anything else they
been "claiming" for years.

5. A brain hemhorrage whilst awaiting 'trial' in Iraq
Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 03:22 PM by Kitsune
The fact that it's a hemhorrage of the 9mm kind will of course not be reported.

Can't let Ol' Saddam spill the beans on the BFEE.

Frankly, I'm a bit surprised they haven't gone and done it already. Maybe they're waiting until they can roll Osama out of the meat locker they've been keeping him in.

6. Excellent question.
And one that is really pissing off ShrubCo, I am sure.

There is no way in hell Iraqis want him shipped off to the US. They want to try him and fry him there, and as the victims, IMO, they should have that right.

Unfortunately for ShrubCo, if the trial takes place in Iraq, we can't very easily control the info that gets exposed in the trial, such as our complicity in his deeds. We can only do that if we bring him to the US and give him a secret military tribunal.

Last of course is an international tribunal at the Hage or somewhere else in Europe. Although probably the best venue, it's the least likely because it deprives Iraqis of their pound of flesh and subjects ShrubCo to scrutiny.

My guess is that the guards will eventually lose interest in him, an unruly mob will storm the gates, and Saddam will be found like Mussolini.

you're kidding - you actually believe a so-called "trial" in Iraq won't be under direct US control?
