1. Hello...this is Seattle
I am definitely heartened by this poll....but it is Seattle after all...leans just slightly to the left...don't you think...

Now if that poll were out of Denver, Dallas, or Atlanta I would sit up and take notice.

2. The seattle metropolitan area ain't NEARLY as liberal as people
think. The Eastside is very conservative.

4. Right, dawgman
After having lived there off and on for 9 years, I can say that the notion the rest of the country has about Seattle somehow being progressive or lefty is a myth. King County has a pretty even balance
of lefty types and rightwingers. Only in Seattle itself do Democrats even slightly outnumber Republicans. As for the rest of Washington, you're looking at the same ignorance, stubbornness, and every-man-for-himselfism that prevails throughout the rural West. That's aside from the more genteel neocons infesting the Eastside (Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Issaquah, Medina, etc.).
Whatever the KIRO poll results may be, it says nothing about the way that Spokane, Walla Walla, the Tri-Cities, and the rest of the state will go. Probably has a lot more to do with the miserable job market in Seattle right now.

3. Speaking of Atlanta
Check out the results of THIS poll on the Atlanta TV station:

Survey: Bush Wrongly Informed On WMD? (http://www.wsbtv.com/index.html) left column, about 1/3 down on the page

Was President George W. Bush wrongly informed by U.S. intelligence about the threat of Iraqi weapons before he made his decision for war?

16891 Votes

Yes. U.S. intelligence gave him faulty information, prompting his decision. 2313 14%

No. Bush wanted the Iraq war anyway and used the weapons "threat" as justification. 8984 53%

The information was not wrong or not entirely wrong. Iraq did have banned weapons. 5594 33%
