Ladies and Gentleman: the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize Nominee is George Bush
Insane! I'm betting they don't pick him.

02/02/04

Associated Press

Oslo, Norway - President George W. Bush, British Prime Minister Tony Blair and the European Union were among known nominees for the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize as the nomination deadline expired Sunday.

The five-member Norwegian awards committee, which keeps the names of candidates secret, accepts nominations postmarked by Feb. 1.

Last year there were a record 165 nominations for the prize, which went to Iranian lawyer and human rights activist Shirin Ebadi.

Though the committee keeps the nomination list secret for 50 years, those making the nominations often announce their candidates.

The Nobel Prizes are awarded Dec. 10, the anniversary of their creator Alfred Nobel's death. The peace prize is awarded in Oslo, and the other prizes in Stockholm, Sweden.

3. ????
They chose Jimmy Carter as a way of snubbing Bush, so they aren't about to pick him now.

6. Who do you think nominated him? The Dick? KKKarl? ASSKKKroft?
It would have to be someone completely ignorant, but I guess the numbers of ignorant people in this administration are endless!

8. They were nominated by Jan Simonsen, an independent member ...
... of Norway's Parliament who says "the pair got rid of a dictator and made the world safer." Simonsen, very conservative, has done this before. So have other right-wingers in Norway's Parliament. In 2002, Harald T. Nesvik, a Right-wing Norwegian Member of Parliament, nominated Blair and Bush. (They didn't win.)

12. Again?
Wasn't he nominated last year as well?
Who do they bribe in Oslo to get his name on the list and how much would it be to get myself nominated?

The "European Union" is also a bogus nominee. That is like making "the American Soldier" man (and woman) of the year.

On the other hand, where are the Gandhis of this world? Who should they pick?
