Blair really needed someone to blame, so he made heads roll at the BBC.

BBC rocks!

2. Obvious 'conspiracy'.

"the White House is believed to be on the verge of agreeing to a lengthy independent investigation that would deliver a verdict after this year’s presidential race in November."

look at the emphasis.

4. Question to our British colleagues:
Will the British people be able to stand up for, and preserve the BBC? There is speculation (obviously on the part of Murdoch and other RWers) that there will be significant restructuring, that will force a strong shift to the right. Please comment as to whether that is likely and why/why not?

I would hope that the BBC will be able to knock the spin artist and the Murdocks back into the last century.

6. I don't know, but I think there's a good chance
when even the viewers of Sky News (Murdoch run) vote 3 to 1 that the BBC chairman and managing director shouldn't have resigned, and by the same margin that the Hutton Report didn't tell the truth, I think there is a real support for the BBC that politicians can only dream of.
I'd suggest that opposition parties run in the next election with a pledge to keep the BBC unchanged, but Blair could easily do that too: he's just shown with topup university fees that he doesn't give a toss what he actually says in a manifesto.
