"Will Dubya dump Dick?" wonders Jim Lobe
excerpt:
While Democratic rivals battle for the presidential nomination in a succession of grueling primary elections, Vice President Dick Cheney appears to be fighting to secure his spot on the Republican ticket behind President George W Bush.

The vice president, whose apparent moderation and 35-year Washington experience reassured voters worried about the callowness and inexperience of Bush during the 2000 campaign, is seen more and more by Republican Party politicos as a drag on the president's re-election chances in what is expected to be an extremely close race.

1. if you consider that Dick pulls the strings
a better question to ask is "when will Dick dump Duh-bya" or perhaps "when will Dick dump dick?"

2. I can not think he will as I do not think the President has the power.
There has always been something wrong with how Bush got in and that the man that was going to help him turns up as his vice. Our big worry is when Bush thinks he can run things along with Carl.I would say right now Carl feels he has the Party in his pocket. Where can they go and they must stick with George even if he is doing odd things. Looks to me like the GOP is braking down into a Party as wide open as the Dem and you know how hard that is to keep together.

3. a lot may depend
on how far the independent investigation of our security is going, Bush is now calling for the investigation so that means he,Cheney and the whole gang will be calling the shots and saying what is classified and can,t be looked at or reported..if Bush had not signed the order and congress did, they would be calling the shots and most likely Bush and Cheney would be toast.. they may dump Cheney in June-July just to have him recover from a faked stroke or something so he can't answer any questions until after the election.. Bush don't want an investigation any more than he wants to lose his job.
We all know that Bush said on TV that Saddam was the the man that tried to kill his daddy. We all know that O'Neil stated that they were told to find a way to go after Saddam. We know that the CIA and other agencies said that Saddam was not an entiment threat...Just the things that have been reported in the news should make any republican want him out of DC.. plus the Americans killed, the money spent, the economy, the loss of jobs, how much do they want?
