Superbowl slap in the face could be our chance
The more I think about the whole Janet Jackson staged thing and MoveOn's denied ad, the more angry I get, but I think we can use this to our advantage. I PERSONALLY didn't mind the whole debacle that much more than I mind anything produced by MTV (I think Janet's in fantastic shape for her age, and is still quite attractive), but this is the hard evidence that EVERYONE has seen about a conservative media.

We need to capitalize this and really hit the moderates, borderline believe-in-the-liberal-media crowd with this. We need to force the message that CBS would deny a 30 second paid ad for political reasons, citing it as "inappropriate," but they would green light a gratuitous full-breast shot during an event watched by millions of FAMILIES (let's face it, we gotta ham this up).

MoveOn has to move in on this...

1. I don't agree...

CBS doesn't air any advocacy ads. People don't want their sports politicized either way.

Now, whether or not the marijuana/terrorist ads are advocacy ads is another issue.

Personally I can understand why CBS doesn't want the Superbowl politicized. I just think that they are letting Republicans dominate in other ways (like hiring Rush fucking Limbaugh) as a commentator. That is insane.

I'm not saying I agree that CBS doesn't slant their coverage in favor of Bush, but I agree with the premise of the ban on issue advocacy.

2. I don't think anybody's gonna care at this point
so I'd say don't waste your energy on this fight.

We have other fights.
