Ok, am I just being paranoid
Or is this starting to smell like a plan? First, we pull our troops out of Saudi Arabia, who, as luck would have it, are utterly swimming in oil; next, we come out with a damning report linking them to Sept. 11th...and as we all know, we are on a *God* mandated crusade against all terrorists...anyone seeing this or have I just crossed that line from "liberal" to "nutcase" ? ;)

1. Yo, dolo amber:
There are many rivers to cross between "liberal" and "nutcase" - not to worry, you're probably onto something :puke: !

4. I admit that the strident tone makes me very uneasy.
I caught Shumer up there dishing the dirt, but he dances for AIPAC.

5. Welcome to DU
with this group in office it is always hard to tell when you are getting close to the truth since it is buried under so many layers of deceit. All we can do is come up with ideas and sort through them until we hit on something. Nope, you are not a nutcase.

6. The first thing that they'll bomb
will be any office containing evidence of financial ties between the BFEE and Osama/Al Q.

Your idea is a distinct possiblity, since they're always looking for new countries to murder.

8. absolutely agree
We ought to remember the Rand briefing to the Pentagon in July 2002, which called Saudi Arabia the "strategic pivot" and Egypt the "prize."

They want to secure Saudi oil for themselves as much as they wanted Iraqi oil. It wasn't convenient to target the Saudis before Iraq, and it still might not be, but their time in the crosshairs will come.

9. Karl Rove?
The man is a genius. This could be a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.

10. Can you imagine the blowback in the Muslim world?
While you make a good point, I dont' see it happening that way.

First, the US military is stretched now.

Second, the response in the Muslim world would be incalculable. Osama wouldn't be able to handle all the new recruits.

Finally, the Saudis have been good business partners for the Oil industry... why invade your best buddies?

As always I could be full of you-know-what, but this is the way I see it.

11. Good point
"Finally, the Saudis have been good business partners for the Oil industry... why invade your best buddies?"

Fair enough...perhaps it won't be about oil at all, just a humanitarian effort to "liberate" the poor oppressed Saudi people...;)
