Interesting thing I learned.
Appearently back in 1987, Ralph Nader's advocacy group created a new security door to the cockpit of commercial airplanes. It would have kept hijackers from being able to hijack planes. Some airline people appearently said that it was not a good idea. It is quite a shame. I wish people had more foresight. If this had become standard in airplanes, 9/11 might not have happened. The point is, people get too preoccupied by looking for potentially guilty people, instead of protecting the innocent. I read this in "Dude, Where's My Country?"

2. It was also "too expensive" for the airlines to pay their share ...
... for air marshals on flights. The legislation providing for that expired in 2001 after something like 25 years. The airlines didn't use its provisions. Funny how that wasn't common knowledge, huh?

3. Good for Ralph.
Al Gore as VP adressed the threat and (guess who!)Newt's Repuplican Congress said NO! It was just too expensive and our money mills said no. Later there was the Hart/Rudman Report. In 1/25/02 or there abouts which recomended many changes. Bush said leave it Cheney.

Why do people think Nadir is any good. 40 years ago he may have been a contender but he is old and rich. Ralph, you never got it.
