I'd suggest shortening the window title to "News from GFP. DU, CommonDreams" for better display. Folks will get the full site name easily enough.

Also I assume that the .swf file can be sent to others and that running it would generate the same news window on their machines. If so, folks could send that file to friends who might also appreciate this service.

i updated the title, nice suggestion :toast:

the swf file only spits out the sliding text links and thats it so it could be used anywhere flash works simply by refering to it's url.

11. Even nicer

The .swf file calls up a default viewer (IrfanView here) and so the headlines are displayed along with the viewer program window. Given the usual state of clutter on the screen, dragging the pop-up window works better. Is there a minimalist .swf viewer that could be pre-configured to run this .swf code and then sent as attachment with the advise to copy it to the desktop? Just trying to reduce the real estate costs. Ideally, for me, just borderless text on a contrasting background, but afaik M$ makes that very cumbersome.
