Do they have Osama surrounded ?
Recall just a day or so before Saddam was captured, Bush made a statement that some of our longtime allies would not get to bid on the Iraqi reconstruction contracts? The timing of that statement was very telling of the warped mind of George W Bush, in my opinion. He knew Saddam was in his sights and he couldn't resist rubbing it in to France, Germany, et al ...

Now, he says he is open to a probe of the intelligence leading up to the invasion of Iraq. There is a parallel to the time when Saddam was captured, in my opinion. By coming out now for an investigation, if Osama is indeed in their sights, this would tend to minimize the invasion of Iraq and would be portrayed as almost the culmination of the offensive war on terrorism. Osama and Saddam could be painted as brothers in arms and the investigation would lose significance in the eyes of many Americans. Are they ready to capture Osama bin Laden?

1. Perhaps Osama will be the mystery performer in the SuperBowl
Wouldn't put it past these evil clowns to spring "news" of Osama's "capture" during halftime.

Though on the other hand, he might have been holing up in Kennebunkport for all we know for the last two years.

But as you say, there could very well be something fishy afoot. They are an awfully clever and tricky lot, but who also let their egos and hatred get the best of 'em most of the time, so they slip up a lot. Especially their wild card, Shrub.

2. Osama is more likely
to be paraded out much closer to the election. Late October, I'd say. They'd want election day to be close enough for people not to start asking too many uncomfortable questions, but simply to be able to present our Fearless Leader as the Great Hero of the Day, and therefore worthy of re-election. In fact, he'd get a sufficient bounce in the polls that then a surge of voting in his favor would seem reasonable to most people.

4. I heard a report on TV.......

...that the military promises to find Osama by this Summer. Don't ask me how they can predict something this far in advance. Unless, they know where he is and are waiting for the right "political" time. Nah, they wouldn't do that. Not Bush* They wouldn't let a "terrorist" run around free until they need him as part of their 2004 campaign.

The only question is will it be before, during, or after the Dem Conv??? I'm guessing AFTER. Probably within the week. It would have the best political impact....deflating the momentum the Dems have after the Conv and would be a precursor to the daily Bush*/Cheney ads that would start running on National Security, crap, 9/11, shit.....
